The realization dawns that the deepest longing is to be grounded once again in the experience of communal presence with God, which has been transformative since childhood and deepened in monastic life. Initially, it seems impossible to fulfill these reawakened yearnings in the fast-paced world, so contrary to the carefully crafted contemplative monastic environment. However, an insight emerges: the contemplative way is not dependent on monastic life, but inscribed in human nature as beings created in God's image. This leads to the understanding that a contemplative culture can be cultivated in the heart, even amidst worldly life, by renewing fidelity to daily quiet time. The practice of early morning meditation becomes a cornerstone of this renewed spiritual journey. In the stillness of dawn, before the day's demands begin, a sacred space is created for reflection, prayer, and communion with the divine. This daily ritual serves as an anchor, allowing the contemplative spirit to flourish amidst the complexities of modern life.
May we cultivate a contemplative heart in the stillness of each day,
finding communion with God in every moment,
regardless of the world's pace.
