We do not need intermediaries to bring us to God. No ritual, institution, or ceremony is required. God is already within us, always present. The challenge is not access but awareness. When we love, we awaken to this reality. Love moves through us, reaching others, deepening our connection. Mystics remind us that abiding in God’s love is possible. They are not special beings but witnesses to a truth available to all. The depths of God, by the generosity of God, have been given to me as the depths of myself. When we become still, when we listen, we recognize that God’s presence is inseparable from our own. Love is not forced; it is freely given and must be freely received. Our lives find meaning in that reciprocity, where we rest in God and God rests in us.
May we awaken to the depths of God within us
and live in the fullness of that abiding love.

Howard Thurman always gets my attention. His words open me up.
