In our shared journey, we recognize the necessity of lament as a ritual for cleansing and preparation. This practice is essential for the liberation we have yet to complete. The pain of past generations, crying internally, must find release. Our spirits carry the weight of unwept tears. As we face constant news of global suffering, we remain detached, forgetting the power of communal lament. Reclaiming lament allows us to heal, to teach our children, and to unite our community. This practice, guided by faith and courage, empowers us to act against oppression. Through lament, we can begin to heal together.
May we embrace the healing power of communal lament,
releasing the pain of past generations and uniting with faith and courage to act against oppression.
