Connecting to the holy involves accessing the deepest parts of our spirits. We set up many boundaries and rules around intimacy and religion because both expose large parts of ourselves that can be hurt or healed. When boundaries and rules become more important than what they protect, harm ensues. We must embrace an ethic that reflects love for God, ourselves, and others. This requires us to respect, honor, and listen to our bodies before judging or controlling our intimacy. Our actions should be liberating, enriching, honest, faithful, responsible, life-serving, and joyous. This journey aligns with Jesus's commandment to love God and neighbor.
May we embrace an ethic of love, respect, and honesty,
aligning our actions with the divine commandment to love God and neighbor, liberating our spirits in the process.
