We recognize that the inner process of change and growth is fundamental to everything, including our bodies. Through surgeries, cancer, and a heart attack, we have seen how our bodies take care of themselves over time. This universal pattern of growth and healing, which includes loss and renewal, is often overlooked in religion. Many prefer magical, external, one-time transactions. Yet, life perpetuates itself through changes that can feel like death. This pattern can disappoint and scare us, even clergy who see death and resurrection as mere doctrine. We must embrace the present moment and future, acknowledging that God continually creates and renews from within.
May we embrace God's constant creation and renewal within us,
finding strength and hope in
the ongoing process of growth and transformation.
