Discernment invites us to be fully present to God, guiding us into a deeper awareness of God's heart and purpose. It asks us to listen attentively, not just for what we want, but for what love calls us to do. This isn't always easy. There are moments when we struggle to trust whether we are truly discerning God's will or simply justifying our own desires. Love often feels inconvenient, demanding more than we feel ready to give. But it remains the core of our decision-making process. The question we must ask is simple: what does love require of us now? Discernment is intended to take us deeper and deeper into the heart of God’s will: that we would follow God passionately into love—even if it takes us all the way to the cross.
May we follow God passionately into love,
trusting in its call,
even when the path leads us to the cross.
