We live in a world where power serves itself rather than serving truth. Prophets rarely hold formal leadership roles because their allegiance is not to institutions but to integrity. Yet, they do not reject the necessity of social order. Jesus healed outside the temple system but still told people to follow its rules. He critiqued corruption without creating division. His vision included everything. Everything finally belongs. True prophets often emerge from within institutions. They know the system, but they refuse to be owned by it. They push for justice without seeking status. Many work unnoticed, fighting for human dignity in quiet, persistent ways. Our role is to recognize them, listen to them, and stand with them, ensuring their voices are not silenced.
May we recognize that everything finally belongs
and stand with those who seek truth and justice.
(inspired by Richard Rohr, The Tears of Things)
