We find ourselves in a society lacking true mentors. As we age, many of us become more rigid rather than developing the nondual thinking necessary for wisdom. Our leaders often fail to transcend dualistic perspectives, hindering progress and reconciliation. We need mentors who can guide us through our Real Work - the internal transformation of our attitudes, intentions, and motivations. A mentor is someone who companions and guides us through our Real Work, which is always going to be focused on the inside, not the outside. This work is about changing ourselves, not others. True mentors present their authentic selves, acknowledging both their faults and gifts. They focus on soul-level connections rather than external attributes. We recognize the urgent need for such mentors to lead us towards genuine personal growth and societal advancement.
May we seek and embrace authentic mentors who guide us
in our inner transformation, fostering genuine growth and connection
in ourselves and our communities.
