As we reflect on wisdom and skillful means, we recognize their practical importance. Step 9 teaches us to protect and liberate our humanity through specific, personal, and concrete amends. Face-to-face encounters, despite being challenging, open the door for genuine reconciliation. This openness must be maintained, avoiding defensiveness and denial. The insight of not causing further harm is crucial; we need time, discernment, and advice before acting. Apologies must be skillful to avoid worsening the hurt. True reparation involves listening to the victims' stories and understanding their pain. Humility in saying "we are sorry" means not dictating terms or expectations. The goal is genuine remorse and repair, leading us to learn how better to love and embody love. The door is open; the dance begins.
May we walk the path of skillful wisdom,
humbly making amends and learning to love more deeply,
as we open doors to genuine reconciliation.
