We often hide the parts of ourselves we consider undesirable, presenting an image of goodness or strength that doesn’t match our true selves. This tendency is not only dishonest but also distances us from authentic spiritual growth. True spirituality invites us to face what we’d rather conceal. It is through acknowledging our flaws, weaknesses, and smallness that we find freedom from the traps of elitism and arrogance. Dualistic thinking divides the world into pure and impure, but life is far more complex. Denying this complexity stunts our growth and fosters immature religion. Honest self-reflection, shadow work, and humility are essential for breaking free from pretense and hypocrisy. They allow us to seek mercy and transformation together.
May we find the courage to embrace our unworthiness,
knowing it opens the way to mercy,
transformation, and true spiritual freedom.
