We often resist the uncomfortable truths about ourselves and the world, yet these truths are precisely where growth and grace are found. It is in our flaws, failures, and fears that the divine meets us most profoundly. By integrating what we avoid and reject, we open ourselves to transformation. Honesty about ourselves and all of reality is the way that God makes grace totally free and universally available. This is not about perfection but about embracing reality as it is, allowing the negatives to teach us. The path of spiritual maturity requires surrendering our need to appear superior or in control. As we let go of these illusions, we discover the freedom and fullness of living authentically. True wisdom emerges when we accept all aspects of life, even those that challenge and humble us.
May we embrace honesty with ourselves and all of reality,
allowing grace to flow freely and transform us
into instruments of love and wisdom.
(inspired by Richard Rohr, Eager to Love)
