Infinite Love
The journey towards the divine light of perfect union with God is one shrouded in profound darkness and trials, both spiritual and temporal, that defy adequate explanation. A deeper enlightenment and wider experience than any individual's is necessary to fully comprehend the depths of this transformative process.
Those who have traversed the dark night of the soul will know the intensity of this experience, yet they will find themselves unable to adequately describe it. The mysteries of the divine are simply too vast and profound to be captured in mere words.
However, in the face of this profound challenge, we can find solace and inspiration in the testimony of those who have walked this path before us. Their words, though they may at times seem to "go over our heads," carry a resonance that speaks directly to the depths of our own being.
John of the Cross, one such mystic, has left us with a core intuition that is both humbling and empowering. He recognized that the Infinite Love that is the architect of our hearts has created us with a capacity to receive the fullness of divine love as our very destiny. Love is not merely a peripheral aspect of our existence, but the very fabric of our true nature.
This realization, born out of John's own harrowing experiences, offers us a glimmer of hope and perseverance, even in the face of the tragedies and challenges that may surround us. For if the Infinite Love that is the ground of our being is at work, even in the darkest of circumstances, then we can trust that a deeper transformation is unfolding, one that will ultimately lead us to the light of perfect union.
The path may be shrouded in mystery, but the destination is clear: to be embraced by the Infinite Love that is the source and sustenance of our very existence. The Infinite Love that is the architect of our hearts has made our hearts in such a way that nothing less than an infinite union with Infinite Love will do.
Let us, then, have the courage to surrender to this divine process, trusting that even in the darkest of nights, the light of love is ever-present, guiding us towards our true and eternal home.
