Insistent and Persistent Love
For too long, science and religion have been viewed as opposing forces, but they are both ways of understanding the world around us. Science explores the mechanics of creation, while spirituality seeks to comprehend the deeper meaning and purpose behind it. Doing science was a way of giving God glory. The separation between these two realms arose when rigid thinking prevented many from seeing how interconnected they truly are. Faith does not have to rely solely on traditions or doctrines from the past; it can be grounded in the reality of the present moment, in what is observable, knowable, and alive in our experiences.
What can be known about God is perfectly plain since God has made it plain. Modern science offers us profound insights into the workings of the universe, insights that can deepen our appreciation for the mystery and beauty of existence. At the same time, spiritual traditions remind us that there is more to life than what can be measured or seen. Fortunately, like never before in history, this generation has at its disposal new and wonderful evidence from science, confirming the presence and power of what many of us would call God or A Very Insistent and Persistent Love at the heart of all creation. Our challenge is to remain open to the wisdom of both, allowing them to inform and enrich our understanding of the world and our place in it.
