Let us consider a life guided not by revenge but by the power of unconditional compassion. It’s clear that the cycle of retribution—eye for an eye, wrong for a wrong—does not repair what’s broken. History shows us the cost: wrecked lives, divided communities, and lost opportunities for real change. Revenge leaves nothing healed, and it certainly doesn’t solve the problems we face. Only goodness can drive out evil and only love can conquer hate. We are called, instead, to respond with integrity and compassion, a love that transcends personal grievances or judgments. This isn’t passive tolerance; it’s active, intentional goodness. We have a choice: to respond to harm with understanding, not bitterness. When we choose this path, we align with a higher purpose, creating space for peace where revenge once ruled.
May we go forth in the power of love,
knowing that only goodness can drive out evil
and only love can conquer hate.
