Intimately Connected
A cosmic perspective on Christ elevates mysticism beyond the personal into the realms of the transpersonal, social, and collective. What Jesus demonstrates in his journey from death to life is that the barriers between realms are thin, like paper. Throughout creation, the "mansions" are intertwined and permeable through love. When our physical forms pass, our individual essence persists, "hidden with Christ in God." This essence, our true selves, provides strength in the present, enabling us to live our earthly lives with the richness of eternity.
Though Jesus' physical presence is no longer among us, intimacy with him remains unbroken if we learn to recognize him on another level, as he taught his disciples during those forty days of Eastertide. This intimacy hasn't waned over two millennia, as attested by generations of Christian mystics. They speak in unison, declaring that Christ's presence pervades our universe. He envelops, sustains, and unifies this human realm. The entire cosmos is now his body, and his love flows through it like blood. While not scientifically verifiable, these truths resonate deeply with the mystically attuned heart.
Christ, without denying the realities of our earthly existence, fully permeates them, infusing them with his expansive presence. He invites us into this invisible yet profoundly cohesive energetic field, where we can live as one—the "Mystical Body of Christ." This manifestation of the Kingdom of Heaven is not a distant concept but a present reality. In his ascended state, Jesus is not farther from humanity but intimately connected. He is the foundation, the encompassing wholeness that roots our human lives and provides the support we need to navigate our earthly journey.
When our inner eye is open to this perception, we recognize the company we walk with, the presence that surrounds and sustains us.
