Lectio is for all of us. It isn't confined to monasteries or sacred texts but is present everywhere. We are invited to engage with the world around us as if it is all part of God’s Word. This isn’t about retreating into silence or isolation—it’s about letting what was once limited to monasteries spill out into our homes, public spaces, and natural world. The reign of God is here and now, in every moment, place, and person. Lectio is a practice in which you begin to actualize your connectedness with everything—your inherent and inherited union with the Divine. We open ourselves to this, finding deeper connections, clarity, and a sense of peace. Through the practice of Lectio, we begin to see the divine in all things, knowing that the unfolding of grace calls us to both inner growth and outer action.
May we awaken to our deep connectedness with all things,
living in union with the Divine and guided by grace in every action.
(inspired by Dan Riley, Franciscan Lectio)
