Divine power is not domination. It is not control, coercion, or hierarchy. The power of God is love that cannot be contained, love that cannot withhold itself. The world has shaped us to fear power, to see it as a force that demands submission, rewards the obedient, and punishes the weak. But divine power is different. It is not a power that oppresses; it is a power that restores. It is mercy that refuses to abandon, even when justice demands separation. Love, not might, is what holds the world together. Because the divine nature is love, to do so would require the unmaking of divinity itself. We do not worship a God of retribution but a God who cannot help but give. In surrendering to this love, we find a different way of being.
May we surrender to the love that cannot be withheld,
knowing that divine power is not might,
but mercy that restores and never abandons.
