We need to approach spirituality with the same openness and humility as good scientists approach their work. The scientific method embraces uncertainty, experiments with hypotheses, and learns through failure. This process mirrors what we might call "practice" in our spiritual lives. Yet, too often, religious adherence clings to certainty, avoiding the vulnerability of real faith, hope, and love in action. Science can purify religion from error and superstition; religion can purify science from idolatry and false absolutes. True spiritual growth requires an open mind and heart, willing to embrace the unknown and explore deeper realities. Like science evolves through evidence and discovery, our spiritual path thrives on curiosity and discernment. Both science and religion can purify one another when we approach them with humility and openness, forging a path toward fuller understanding and mutual flourishing.
May we walk forward with open minds and humble hearts,
allowing science and faith to purify and
enrich one another for the flourishing of all.
