We have inherited a world where truth is often met with resistance. Those who came before us spoke honestly, yet they were silenced, their warnings ignored. History repeats because we reject what challenges our comfort. Lies feel familiar, offering false security, while truth unsettles. Jesus mourned for Jerusalem because the people refused to listen. Their rejection led to desolation. The same pattern continues. Prophets rise, voices cry out, and still, we hesitate. We must decide whether to follow the comfortable path of deception or accept the cost of truth. Truth demands something from us—honesty, responsibility, and change. We cannot wait until it is too late. The choice is in front of us now. Will we listen?
May we have the courage to recognize truth,
the humility to receive it, and the resolve to live by it.
(inspired by Drew Jackson, A Lament for the Prophets We’ve Killed)
