We are called to be salt and light, essential and transformative forces in the world. Salt preserves and enhances, yet when it loses its distinctiveness, it becomes useless. Light illuminates and guides, but it must not be hoarded or hidden. Our role is to shine, not for our own sake, but to bring clarity, warmth, and hope to others. Disciples are to glorify God by being their true selves: salt and light; existing for others rather than for only themselves. A faith that lacks action is empty, offering nothing to the world. True discipleship means embodying love and compassion, creating spaces where all can find refuge and belonging. When we live as salt and light, we align with Jesus’ call, glorifying God by existing not for ourselves but for the good of others.
May we be our true selves, salt and light,
living for the good of others
and bringing hope to the world.
