We experienced the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, enabling us to speak in tongues and understand one another despite our diverse languages. God shattered the barriers of language, ethnicity, gender, and social status that once divided us. The Spirit honored and affirmed the humanity of every person, regardless of their identity or background. We saw women and slaves prophesying alongside free men, a radical equality that challenged societal norms. Pentecost revealed the Spirit's love for all people and their embodied existences. It was a new creation, a holy resistance against oppressive systems, and a vision of God's diverse glory manifested through human multiplicity. We were made into a new body of believers, united in our differences by the transformative power of the Spirit.
May the Holy Spirit, who united us in diversity at Pentecost, continue to shatter all barriers and transform us into a new body of believers, honoring the sacred worth of every person.
