We acknowledge that our story is not the whole story. Other stories exist—complex, diverse, and essential. When we listen to them with humility, we confront our biases and expand our understanding. We see how easy it is to let group identity fuel fear and superiority, dismissing those who are different. True wisdom comes from engaging other stories without judgment, without the need to be right. We learn that universal truths—like love, forgiveness, and compassion—transcend any one tradition. The only way we dare move up to the story and understand it with any depth is by moving through and taking responsibility for our personal story, our group story, and other stories. Our challenge is to face our personal and collective histories with honesty. We cannot grow without confronting what we have ignored or harmed. The story that holds all stories demands that we live with awareness, solidarity, and a commitment to truth.
May we walk with courage through our own story,
our shared story, and other stories,
knowing that only through this journey
can we glimpse the fullness of the story.
