The Many Layers of CI's Substack
When you visit our main Substack page— https://contemplativeinterbeing.substack.com —you'll find a rich array of resources, some immediately visible and others quietly waiting to be explored. This guide walks you through the various offerings and how you can access them. Contemplative Interbeing continues to operate within the gift economy. If you’re moved to support this work, we welcome and appreciate your generosity (click HERE to donate).
Main Page
At the top of the page, you’ll see links to nearly 650 contemplative reflections. There’s also a simple menu with direct access to:
Notes - A space for brief reflections or updates, similar in format to a Facebook post.
A link to the CI Website — Learn more about Contemplative Interbeing’s broader vision and work.
A link to join our online Community (Mighty Network) – Connect with others through our online space for community, learning, and mutual support.
Sound Bowl – A curated section exploring the intersection of contemplation and action, childlike wonder, and creative healing. This is inspired by the work of various contemplative authors.

New Sections
You’ll also see, on the main Substack page, a link to one of our new offerings:
Whole Brain Spirituality™
This section explores Whole-Brain Spirituality™ and Spiritual Intelligence—integrating neuroscience and contemplative wisdom to support a flourishing life. You will only receive posts from this section if you choose to subscribe to it directly. This helps ensure your inbox remains manageable.
Embodying Our Hidden Depths
This is another new section that may not appear in the main menu, but is available to subscribe. It focuses on the deep, often unspoken dimensions of spiritual awakening. If you subscribe, you’ll receive weekly sermons and daily spiritual practices. These include reflection, affirmation, guided practice, journaling prompts, a suggested action, and a closing invitation. Each week will introduce a different theme, which can be explored through associated hashtags.
Hidden Gems
Over time, we’ve published three major series. These remain available on the main page, usually in the right-hand margin, though they may not be immediately obvious.
Contemplation — A 12-part series exploring the question “What is contemplation?” through experiential reflection.

New Seeds of Contemplation — A 40-post series reflecting on Thomas Merton’s book, New Seeds of Contemplation.

The Tears of Things — A 40-post series inspired by Fr Richard Rohr’s book, The Tears of Things: Prophetic Wisdom for an Age of Outrage.

We hope to offer additional series in the future.
