The Sacredness of the Natural World

We have not fully understood the significance of God as Creator and how it should shape our relationship with the world around us. Creation is not separate from God’s presence; it is a reflection of divine beauty and goodness. If we truly believed this, our treatment of the earth would be different. We would approach it with care, respect, and responsibility. Instead, we have often exploited it, ignoring the deep connection between Creator and creation. God loves everything that God has made! Our failure to honor this relationship has led to harm, both to the planet and to ourselves. It is essential that we recognize the sacredness of the natural world and take responsibility for its care, as an expression of our reverence for God.

May we honor the Creator by cherishing all of creation,
knowing that God loves everything that God has made.
