Spirituality is the art of undivided seeing - beholding the whole of reality through the lens of our own wholeness. Not aiming for perfection but taking responsibility for how we relate to this very moment.
Once we see skillfully, the rest follows of its own accord. For the One Life is already living itself within us, this present flowering we learn to say YES to - including all its glories and sorrows. The great Divine breath is so vast it even embraces seeming opposites like death, which is merely transformation.
My small story is not about me, but about This that endures all changing forms. It is about Love, which alone can heal our self-inflicted blindnesses and distorted lenses.
Left to our insecure egos, we erect barriers, resist Love's inflowing grace. The spiritual path's healing work is to dismantle these self-protective walls, let the membrane between us and Source become utterly permeable.
Life's inevitabilities - the betrayals, pains, dashed hopes - all conspire to confront our chosen blindness, shatter our frozen agendas so we can truly see what is. Like those Jesus freed from physical and psychological blindness, our impoverished cries finally open us to受ecia vista - to take in this endless holy sight with fresh, unfiltered eyes.
The contemplative mind is healed vision itself - a panoramic, undefended presence that does not divide or deny any part of the field. It sees not through the ego's fragmented perception but as the Whole beholding itself in infinite mirroring.
This is our human purpose - to recognize our separateness as illusion and live from that nondual vantage. To give up controlling for bewildered surrender into the unified flow of this One Life eternally streaming throughS our viewing.
Then we see not as our small selves dictate, but as things truly are in their primordial interwovenness. Without inner divides or elimination, we enter into undivided intimacy with the Real. We become liberated seeing itself, absorption in real presence at last!
Find a comfortable position, sitting or lying down. Close your eyes gently and take a few deep breaths. Inhale slowly and deeply, feeling your breath fill your body. Exhale completely, releasing any tension.
Imagine yourself standing on a vast precipice, overlooking a breathtaking vista. It can be a landscape that holds meaning for you – a mountain range, a calming ocean, or even a bustling city scene.
Instead of focusing on individual elements, let your gaze encompass the entire view. See the play of light and shadow, the movement and stillness coexisting within the scene.
This way of seeing is the "undivided gaze" – a holistic perspective that embraces all aspects of reality, without judgment or division.
Notice any tendency to pick out details or judge certain elements of the view. This is the ego's voice, trying to impose its narrative. Gently release this desire for control and return to simply observing the whole.
Remember, spirituality isn't about perfection, but about taking responsibility for how you connect with the present moment. This includes embracing all that exists within it – joy and sorrow, beauty and pain.
Think of the present moment as a flower blooming. It encompasses both vibrant colors and delicate petals, a microcosm of the vast divine breath that animates life.
Recognize how your personal story might have created blind spots, preventing you from seeing the wholeness of existence. This story isn't the essence of who you are.
Love is the key that unlocks these self-imposed limitations. It allows us to dismantle the walls we build around ourselves and become more receptive to the divine flow.
Life's challenges – betrayals, disappointments, and unforeseen turns – can also serve as catalysts for awakening. They shatter our rigid patterns and force us to see reality more clearly.
Imagine a person experiencing "ciega vista" – a state of blindness. Now, visualize the moment their sight is restored. This moment of seeing everything anew represents the awakening to undivided vision.
The contemplative mind cultivates this panoramic awareness, a state of complete openness. It doesn't judge or deny any aspect of the experience, but simply witnesses it all.
We are not separate from the world around us. We are a part of the great tapestry of life, eternally interconnected and mirroring the whole.
This is where our purpose lies – to let go of the illusion of separateness and embrace the nondual reality. We surrender to the flow of life, trusting in its wisdom.
With each exhale, feel yourself letting go of control and embracing the undivided view. You see things not as your limited self perceives them, but as they truly are.
This is liberation – the freedom of experiencing reality in its fullness, without internal divisions or distortion. You are one with the Real, immersed in the presence of the ever-flowing One Life.
Take a few more deep breaths, integrating this sense of wholeness and connection. When you're ready, gently open your eyes, carrying the undivided gaze with you throughout your day.
