We recognize that the Spirit within us drives an unyielding desire for forgiveness and reconciliation. The entire message of the gospel is rooted in forgiveness—it's central to our faith. We understand that being forgiven, despite our unworthiness, dismantles our tendency to earn approval. The ongoing experience of being forgiven is necessary to renew our flagging spirit and keep us in the infinite ocean of grace. This ongoing experience of forgiveness renews us, keeping us grounded in grace. As we journey through life, we realize that universal forgiveness becomes the only lens through which we can truly see and understand reality. Without forgiveness, we remain stuck in old patterns and illusions. True forgiveness frees and heals, allowing us to live up to our deepest dignity, guided by a power beyond ourselves. This is how we build and sustain authentic community.
May the ongoing experience of forgiveness renew our spirits
and anchor us in the infinite grace that sustains and heals.
(inspired by Richard Rohr, Near Occasions of Grace)
