We have long misunderstood faith, treating it as mere assent to doctrines rather than an active process of discernment. Faith calls us to notice the evidence present in our minds, hearts, souls, and the natural world. Saints and mystics across history have emphasized this inner and outer evidence, but too often, we have dismissed it, clinging instead to intellectual affirmations or rigid dogmas. This has robbed many of a direct experience of God. The search for truth, the search for authentic love, and the search for God are finally the same search. Science now unveils new dimensions of this evidence. Faith is not passive; it requires sincere seeking and meaningful engagement. Let us recommit to a faith rooted in action, contemplation, and discovery, knowing for ourselves the truth that transforms.
May we seek truth, love, and God with sincerity,
knowing they are one and lead us to transformative grace.
