God’s love is relentless and active, always seeking us even in our most profound lostness. The justice of God is not passive; it compels action. We see this in the shepherd who searches tirelessly, the woman who sweeps every corner, and the father who waits expectantly. These actions reveal that God does not abandon us to wander or wait for us to return on our own. Instead, God initiates the search, enters our mess, and meets us where we are. God looks for us when our lostness is so convoluted and so profound, we can’t even pretend to look for God. This is not about trivial loss but genuine separation. God’s persistence shows us the depth of divine love and justice. If we are to follow God, we must embrace this truth: to love like God is to seek, to search, and to never give up.
May we trust in the relentless love of God,
who seeks us even when we cannot seek God.
